This is one of the easiest snorkeling spots on the island. Some call it Bowling Pin Beach because of the marker showing where to turn in from the road. It's also an easy walk west from the villas at Bambarra Beach. The reef is visible from the beach as a cluster of dark areas. Our granddaughter Katie said it was like swimming in a zoo.

Chris is holding two Caribbean Spiny Lobsters caught for us by Dolphus Arthur. They don't have the claws of other species but can still defend themselves with their spiny feelers or powerful mouth parts. They hide under rocks or coral overhangs near the bottom but often give away their presence with an exposed feeler.

We didn't see stingrays until our sixth visit to Middle Caicos, then we saw one on two different swims. Cathy discovered this large one at McKitrick's Reef, just a few feet from the beach.

This large Brain Coral is a large and healthy specimen, perhaps the largest we've seen on the island.
